George Douglas Obituary

George A. Douglas, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2008, was born July 19, 1929 in Petaluma, CA and worked on the family dairy ranch. He also drove a milk tanker in Petaluma and worked for Byron Elmer driving a logging truck. He married Juneve (Jean) Canfield of Long Beach, CA in 1957, moved to Potter Valley in 1961 and bought a ranch from C.S. Howard Jr. and raised dairy cows. He was a member of the Potter Valley Grange.

He is survived by his daughters Jennifer & Paul Warden of Weiser, ID, Paulette & Mike Buhrmester of Watscka, IL, sons Mark & Debbie Douglas and family of Santa Rosa, Robert & Denice Logan and family of Oregon, George & Margarte Douglas of Alaska, brother-in-law Ronald Canfield & family of Santa Rosa. He also leaves ten grandchildren, many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Inurnment will be at Chapel of the Chimes in Santa Rosa. Memorial Services will take place at a later date. Arrangements under the care of The Eversole Mortuary.

As a kid I remember George coming over most Saturday or Sunday mornings to have coffee with my dad. My dad always said that George was the kind of guy who would give you the shirt of his own back to help you out. I know he will be missed by all his friends and most of all family.
