I was caught off guard by this. I commonly referred to Fr. Don as "The Padre" when I was working in Goffstown years ago at the store next to his church. I could practically set my watch to when he would come in the store every morning and I would have his newspaper and cigarettes waiting for him. He had a knack for putting people at ease around. During one of our many chats he once told me, "I too am also a sinner, and if the day comes that I forget that, I am doomed." He was a very rare breed of a clergyman for lack a better word, he was some that you could sit down and have a beer with him (figuratively and literally).
Godspeed Padre

To all of Father Don's family I offer my sincerest condolences. I've only seen him a few times since he was transferred out of St. Catherine's in Manchester. Of all the priests at St Catherine's over the years, I have to add that he is tied for first place with Msgr. Hannigan. May it comfort you to know he is at peace and watching down on you all. God Bless.

Dan, I was a seminarian at Wadhams Hall with Don. Perfectly true, he was a hilarious soul to be around. I'm sure we men from Wadhams will miss him much.
