Judith Berry Obituary

MERRIMACK - It is with deepest regret to announce the passing of Judy Berry late Thursday afternoon on Nov. 17, 2016, after battling cancer for about two years. Judy had been blessed to be at home, surrounded by loved ones, at the time. She was 72.

Judy, only daughter to Charles E. and Lila Berry, was the second oldest of five children, which included Charles Jr. (aka Butch), Daniel, Ronald and Brian. She was born and lived in Nashua most of her life.

When she was just 7, she survived an accidental gunshot to the head, proof from an early age that God's love and her innate stubborn nature would be her strongest assets. It would be that same stubborn nature and nurturing spirit that would make her an asset to those closest to her, starting with her youngest brothers, whom she cared for to help her parents, who both had to work to support their large family.

Judy's fierce loyalty extended to her friends as well as family. She had far too many to mention with whom she would remain close despite time or distance. She always had a way of letting them know how important they were to her. She didn't always express herself in the most diplomatic way, but always spoke from her heart.

For many, she has been a surrogate mother, caring not only for her own three children as a single parent, but many others as the need arose. It was a habit that she never quite gave up. It was up until her final few months when her health began its rapid decline that she provided that same devotion and care for her great-grandchildren. She never lacked for the care she needed from that point, thanks to the tireless efforts of her son, Christopher, and wife Chrissy, along with that of her brother, Ron, and wife Maggie.

Judy's legacy is brilliantly and beautifully displayed in so many who have had the privilege of knowing her; who hold precious memories of her wisdom, compassion and how much she gave of herself.

Our world is less bright without her, but memories will outlive her through those who have known and loved her.

Judy is survived by her three sons, Timothy and Christopher Lucier and wife Chrissy, as well as Jeffrey Berry; her grandchildren, Patrick, Jewellee and Margaret Lucier, Tucker Lucier, Christina and Shannon Rose, Kellie and David Berry; and great-grandchildren Rylee Lucier, Quinn and Lacee May Tuck.
.
SERVICES: A celebration and memorial is planned for Saturday, Dec. 10, at 3 p.m. at Community Chapel, Church of the Nazarene, located at 5 St. Laurent St., Nashua, N.H. I can't even begin to say the impact that you had on my life. You were one of the strongest women I have ever been blessed to have as a part of my life. I love you and will miss you, but knowing you are with mom and dad and you are now and Angel with no pain or worries gives me peace.

Judy we just got reconnected and now your gone. I still can hear your infectious laugh....You not only let me care for your boys when I myself was just 11 and a kid. But later in life you let me stay with you for a while when I didn't feel wanted any where else. God Bless your big caring heart. Your family knows just how important and inspirational a person you were to them all! Love ya Red, I'll see you again some day.
