Leo Stacy Obituary

Laconia-----Leo Sargent Stacy, 92, of Holman Street, passed away at home on Sunday, August 19, 2018.

Leo was born on October 25, 1925 in Dover, the son of Frank and Margery (Sargent) Stacy. He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War.

Leo was a system supervisor for New England Telephone. He was a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre , the Laconia Elks Lodge #876, Laconia VFW Post 1670, Knights of Columbus Council #428, the Fifty Plus Club, and the Laconia Elders Friendship Club. He enjoyed skiing.

Leo gave countless volunteer hours to the community, including Special Olympics, Holy Trinity School, Woodland Heights, Memorial Middle School and the New Hampton School.

Leo is survived by a son, Robert N. Stacy, of Mass.; a daughter, Evelyn M. Stacy, of Laconia; four grandchildren, Nathan Spencer, Kathryn Spencer, Ian Stacy and Leah Stacy; five great grandchildren; a brother, Walter A. Stacy and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his wife, Helene B. Stacy and by his brother, Frank A. Stacy.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August, 29, 2018 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia NH using the Carriage House entrance.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 11:00am at the St. Joseph Parish, 96 Main Street, Belmont NH.

Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia NH.

For those who wish, the family suggests that memorial donations may be made to the Gunstock Adaptive Skiing Program- Lakes Region Disabled Sports, PO Box 1307, Laconia NH 03247-1307.
