Maxine Brown Obituary

FRANKLIN - Maxine R. Brown, 79, died on May 30, 2012, at the Dartmouth Medical Center in Lebanon, after a lengthy illness.

She was born on May 22, 1933 in West Epping, the daughter of the late Frank Bartlett and Hazel M. (Glover) Little.

A former longtime resident of Epping, she had resided in Franklin, for the last 15 years.

She was a talented race car driver who raced on many local tracks and was formerly crowned "Powder Puff Queen."

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she especially loved when new babies came into the family. Maxine was a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens Club and enjoyed knitting blankets, playing Bingo, and trips to Foxwoods Casino with her longtime companion, Phil Tobinis. She was also an avid Red Sox fan and loved her pet "Jack," a Jack Russell Terrier.

She was predeceased by her husband, Howard M. Brown who died in 1987, and her son Fred M. Brown who died in 1985. She is survived by five children, Linda (and Randy) Dixon of Franklin; Deborah Regan (and Richard Kelley) of Manchester; Sandra Robitelle (and Pat Nowell) of Franklin; Heidi Brown Osborne (and Bob Bushnell) of Plaistow and Howard Brown Jr. (and Diane) of Newmarket; longtime companion Phil Tobinis of Franklin; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 12 to 3 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Epping.

There will be a mercy meal following the calling hours on Sunday in the downstairs area at the American Legion, Richard A. Mitchell Post 51, located on Route 125 in Epping.

Burial will be held in Prospect Cemetery in Epping, at a later date.

Flowers are acceptable or donations may be made in her memory to American Heart Association, Heart Gifts Processing Center, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, N.Y., 13220-3049.
