David H. Reynolds
Old Forge
David H. Reynolds died at his home with his family present on February 13, 2010. He was born September 18, 1947, in Watertown, NY, the son of Betty J. Reynolds and the late Harold E. Reynolds. In 1965, he graduated from Adams-Adams Center High School, where he participated in the football, basketball and baseball teams. In 1966, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam for nearly 13 months. As a squad leader, he was wounded in action three times. On October 30, 1967, he was awarded the Bronze Star medal for bravery by Commanding General Victor Krulak. Sgt. Reynolds also received the Purple Heart medal with two stars, the Vietnam Service medal with a star, the Republic of Vietnam medal and the National Service Medal. After his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, he lived in Syracuse for a short time and was employed by Bristol Meyers Laboratories. He moved to Old Forge in the early 1970s and was employed by the Town of Webb Water Dept. for over thirty years. He retired in September 2009. David enjoyed a life-long love of the outdoors, spending most of his time enjoying fishing and hunting. He is survived by his mother; Todd, a son of his marriage to Elaine Puglione; Adam, a son of his marriage to Lisa Platt; a sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and David Langworthy; and his long- cherished friend, Candace Kotlowski. He was predeceased by his father and a son, Jason. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, February 27, at 1:30 at Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church, in Old Forge, with Rev. Lawrence Bartel officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider the Old Forge Ambulance in memory of David. Arrangements are with the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, Old Forge.
