David Morris Meyer

WILLIAMSBURG - It is with great sadness that Rick and Carole Meyer wish to announce the death of David Morris Meyer, son of Rick Meyer, Williamsburg, VA. David passed away unexpectedly on January 13, 2014 at his home in Madison, Wisconsin from complications of the flu followed by a heart attack. He was born in Madison on December 28, 1951. He lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin during his teen and young adult years completing his BA degree at the University of Wisconsin, MA degree at McAllister College in Minnesota and his PhD at Northwestern University. For several years he was on the faculty of the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. His primary interest was in all things Irish. Most recently, he owned and managed Macater Press, a publisher of Irish history and culture and concurrently he was a Senior Lecturer at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He is survived by his parents, Manon Steele and Rick Meyer and his wife Carole; brother and sister-in-law Bruce and Patty Meyer; a nephew Richard Meyer and his wife Marcella Meyer. A memorial service will be held in Madison, Wisconsin.
