Pedro Zamora Obituary
Pedro was a humble and caring US Army Veteran that served his country in Vietnam twice. He served 23 years in the army as an infantryman and then as an administrative specialist. He went to serve his country in Vietnam twice. Throughout the years, Pedro received numerous medals and recognition such as the National Defense Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbion-3, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal with Seven Service Stars, Army Commendation Medal with First Oak Leaf Cluster, Combat Infantryman Badge, Meritorious Service Medal, Four Overseas Service Bars, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Air Medal, Purple Heart with First Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal Seventh Award, Bronze Star Medal with First Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm. Pedro was a proud member of the American Legion Post 439 in La Feria, Texas.
He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his loving wife of 26 years Maria "Mary" Elena Zamora, children Rick (Myrna) Zamora and Della (Brett) Brooks, stepdaughters Leticia Hernandez, Cynthia (John)
Benavides, Rebeka (Ricardo) Avendano, siblings Irma Zamora Lugo and Julian Vasquez, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will begin Tuesday and Wednesday, November 22 and 23, 2022, at the Rudy Garza Funeral Home in La Feria, Texas from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and a prayer service on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin Friday, November 25, 2022, with a chapel service at the Rudy Garza Funeral Home in La Feria, Texas. at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Heavenly Grace Memorial Park.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be John A. Benavides, Ricardo Avendano, John Patric Benavides, Alfredo Garcia, Emilio Castro, and Austin Lee Loredo. Honored to serve as honorary pallbearers will be Rick Zamora and Manuel Mercado.
