Victor Alcantara Obituary
Victor fell in love with and married Marcela Martinez Alcántara, who worked at the same company he was employed. They were married in 1996. Victor and Marcela lived in the Houston area for the past 14 years but visited the valley as often as possible.
Victor is preceded in death by his father, Jose R. Alcántara; mother, Teresa M. Alcántara; niece Dominique L. Ramirez and great-nephew Isaac D. Garcia.
Victor was a loving Husband, a proud Father, an adoring Grandpa, a wonderful Big Brother, a kind and big-hearted Uncle to all his numerous Nieces and Nephews and a true friend. He was a very caring and friendly person and always brought a smile to everyone by cracking jokes. He tried to make everyone he met feel special and appreciated. Victor will be truly missed.
Victor is survived by his wife of 24 years, Marcela M. Alcántara, his daughter from a previous marriage Sara June (Jeff) Wareham, and his granddaughter that he absolutely adored, Zetta Rey Wareham. He was also the eldest of 10 children and is survived by all of his siblings - Jose A. (Chong) Alcántara, Juan C. Alcántara, Rosa E. Alcántara, Jose R. (Sandra) Alcántara Jr., Luis A. Alcántara, Maria T. (James) Faires, Miguel A. (Laura) Alcántara, Francisco J. (Bellatrix) Alcántara and Marta C. (Daniel) Ramirez.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021, from 5 p.m., until 9 p.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at 7 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, March 6, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with burial to follow at Las Rusias Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Juan Alcántara, Jose Alcántara Jr., Luis Alcántara, Miguel Alcántara, Jose E. Orduña, Freddy Perez, and Israel Perez.
Due to current COVID restrictions, this establishment will follow the 75% occupancy, limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart. All individuals must wear face coverings or masks.

Very saddening on the passing of Victor he was a good friend. We went to the Lamar elementary school in Harlingen. Always had a smile on him. May he RIP and his memoirs be a blessing.
