Coleen Shaw passed away in Olympia, Wash., on Feb. 5, 2007.
Coleen was born Nov. 6, 1923, in Santa Fe, N.M., to Judge Colin Neblett and his wife, Maisie.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Diane Shaw of Columbia, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Thomas Schmidt of Olympia, Wash.; and grandsons, William "Billy" Shaw and Ethan Schmidt.
Coleen's father, Colin Neblett, was the first federal judge to be appointed to the state of New Mexico. She moved to the Los Angeles area of California as a child. In 1945 she graduated from University of Southern California with a degree in airport management. After marrying her late husband, Stuart Shaw, in 1954, they moved to Altadena, Calif., before finally settling in Newbury Park. Coleen was a very active member of St. Patrick's Episcopal Church and the church's Mad Attic thrift shop for 35 years. She relocated with her daughter and family to Olympia, Wash., in 2005.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, at Olympia's St. John's Episcopal Church. A memorial service will also be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church in Thousand Oaks.
