Josef Kreutz, 76, of Eureka, Calif., passed away suddenly on May 12, 2008, in the home he shared with his son, Roger Kreutz.
Josef was born Sept. 21, 1931, in Romania one of four children of Anton Kreutz and Anna Pindec.
Josef was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Kreutz.
As a young man, Josef lived in Germany where he apprenticed as a baker. In 1959 he met Charlotte Lang of Bavaria, where they were married in 1960.
In 1963 they moved to the United States and settled in Oxnard, where they raised three sons. Josef began work in Oxnard at Abex Aerospace and later became a setup instructor. Josef retired from Abex after 31 years of service.
Avid ballroom dancers, Josef and Charlotte attended many dance functions together and were members of the Ventura Rheinland Club for more than 25 years. Friends will remember Josef for his wonderful sense of humor.
Josef is survived by his sons, Michael of Boston, Mass., Josef Jr. of Oxnard and Roger of Eureka; sister, Rosalia Cunningham of Oxnard; and from a previous marriage, daughter, Monika Zenger of Germany.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 22 at James A. Reardon-Payton Mortuary, 511 North A St., Oxnard, CA 93030. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 23, at James A. Reardon-Payton Mortuary, 511 North A St., Oxnard, CA 93030. Interment will follow at Santa Clara Catholic Cemetery, 2370 North H St., Oxnard, CA 93030.

Sorry for your loss. I knew both of your parents thru the German Club and they both will be missed. I will always remember where they sat and how much fun it was to chat with them thru the years. Sorry I could not attend the service, my co-worker is on vacation and we were short staffed.
