Joseph Young Obituary

1984-2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of our dear Joseph due to a ruptured aorta. Beloved son, brother and uncle, Joseph leaves a legacy of love and steadfastness for His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his friends. A faithful man to the end, he is now in Glory.

He will be deeply missed by his parents, Bill and Mary Young; his sister, Sarah Pia (Norman); nephew, Ethan; and niece, Rachel. The Wotkyns family, the Yanez family, and his church family grieve the loss in addition to his many friends.

Joseph lived in Port Hueneme and loved exploring Ventura County. He grew up at his home church of Faith Community Church, but as an adult also attended Catalyst and Reality Churches. He graduated from Hueneme High School and Oxnard College. Joseph had a quick wit and an amazing gift with the written word. He was a blogger, gamer, and aspiring journalist. He was a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He worked hard and never gave up. He was humble, compassionate and so very funny. He was the type of man who could ignite a first time conversation into a lifelong friendship. He always sought to share the truth that can only be found in Christ Jesus. Joseph's generosity and graciousness is imprinted on the hearts of his family, his dog Paul, and his friends! We have so much to remember and cherish in our hearts until we are reunited in Heaven.

Please join us for memorial service Friday, April 5, at Faith Community Church, 723 South D Street, Oxnard at 2 p.m.

My deepest sympathy to the Young family. Joseph is one of the kindest souls I have ever met. I am sorry I didn't know him well as an adult, as he always had a charisma that made him a joy to speak to. As a boy his smile was one of the most joyful I have ever seen. I will cherish the childhood memories I have of him, and know that he has been called to do great things for the Lord now.

Even though I never knew Joseph personalty. He was my great friend in the gamer community. Spent almost 8 years playing Halo with him, there was never a dull moment playing with Joe. I will always be reminded of him every time I pick up a game controller. My prayers go out to friends & family, that they can find peace in the loss Of such a kind Man.
