Juan Ocadiz Aviles, 99, of Barstow, passed away the morning of Monday, April 11, 2016. He went peacefully in his sleep to join the Lord.Juan was born on July 17, 1916 in Tlachichilco, Veracruz, Mexico; however, he was a 63 year resident of Barstow before making Escondido his home for the past 8 years. Juan worked at Santa Fe Railroad for 33 years, which is where he met his wife, Guadalupe. He married Guadalupe on September 17, 1944 and they remained married for 63 years until her passing on April 19, 2007. Juan lived 8 years, 11 months and 23 days without the love of his life, but now they are together again...forever. Juan was preceded in death by his father, Luis; his mother, Bacilia; his sons, Jose and Julio; and his grandaughter, Iris. He will be missed by all his family including his sons, Javier and his girlfriend, Blanca of Oceanside; Angel and his wife, Anita of Barstow; Paul and his wife, Elizabeth of Barstow; Larry of Santa Maria; Louie and his wife, Ann of Apple Valley; Juan Jr. and his wife, Linda of Barstow; his daughters, Bacilia and her husband, Salvador Ramirez of Lancaster; Dominga and her husband, James Mackey of Escondido; his 20 grandchilden and 39 great grandchildren. Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 10 a.m.
