Bernice Walters Obituary
Bernice was born May 23, 1932, in Monticello, Ark., and moved to Waco with her family in 1950. She taught special education for many years throughout Central Texas, including the Gatesville State Prison, from where she retired.
She is survived by her husband, Edward; daughters, Teresa Corley and husband, Clifford, and Janis Metoskie; as well as four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and many members of her extended family.

A pang of sadness stabbed my heart today as I saw the obit for my friend in the newspaper. I will forever cherish my friendship with Bernice, who brought beauty, strength and humor into my life, as well as the life of all she touched.She was truly a one of a kind legacy. My love and prayers are with your family.
