Louis Webre Obituary

Louis J. Webre Sr., 75, of West, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2006, in Waco. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel followed by visitation until 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with the Rev. Ed Karasek and the Rev Vincent Chacko, IMS, as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Webre was born Jan. 8, 1931, in Thibodaux, La., the son of Thomas and Agnes (Fremin) Webre. He attended school in New Orleans and served his country in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955 during the Korean Conflict. On Jan. 7, 1956, he was united in marriage to Margaret (Hennig) Webre in West. He was a self-employed mechanic and also worked for the West Independent School District for 17 years, before retiring in 2002. Louis was very mechanically minded and loved to work on cars. He also enjoyed cooking, barbecueing, and spending time with his family. Louis was a member of K.J.T. # 31, K.J.Z.T. Ludmila #11, and St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. His parents, two brothers, and four sisters preceded him in death. Survivors include his beloved wife of 50 years, Margaret Webre of West; eight sons, Louis Webre, Jr. and fianceŽ, Susan Knapek, Thomas Webre and wife, Patricia, Daniel Webre and wife, Mary, Kenneth Webre and wife, Cindy, David Webre and wife, Donna, Andrew Webre, Phillip Webre and wife, Paula, and Gregory Webre, Sr. and wife, Alisha, all of West; three daughters, Juanita Poteet and husband, Chesley, Laura Skerik and husband, Bobby, and Lydia Nors and husband, Gary, all of West; 23 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. To the family, please accept our deepest sympathy. Mr. Webre has been a part of our lives for so many years. Billy and I worked with Louis at Fleetwood and then marriage brought the family together and we share grandchildren as well. Please know that our prayers of comfort will be with each of you.
