May the comfort of the Holy Spirit be with you today and through the days ahead. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

As you face this difficult time in your life, may new strength emerge for you, and may these strengths contribute to your healing and your growth. With time, may you look back on this defining moment as a period that also brought insight and a deep appreciation for the gift your loved one has been in your life.

We will all miss this dear and precious saint of God, who is rejoicing in the presence of our Wonderful Lord.

Bro. Oates was a blessing and encouragement to us in the beginning years of our ministry. He also dedicated our baby son to the Lord in 1974 when he pastored in Temple, Texas. We will always lovingly remember Bro. Oates.

Brother Oats built and served my family at Grace Temple. A more Godly man I never knew. I met him when there were just outside walls and a roof on the Church building. There were three naked light bulbs on a temporary service. Only one other couple was there and he set aside his work to have a service. A prayer request he had was for God to send him an electrician to wire the church. He did. Unknown to Bro. Oates, I was the electricin God sent. Darrell Champeau and wife Joyce Champeau.

My heart goes out to the entire family at your time of loss. What an awesome man of God he was, and an encouragment to so many. He certainly touched my life and ministered to me in countless ways over the years. Such a gentle giant of a man with a heart of love and compassion for everyone. I know that he is rejoicing today with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
