LeRoy Andrew Yess

Owatonna, MN - LEROY ANDREW YESS, age 70, of Owatonna died on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Traditions II in Owatonna.

Born on August 5, 1952 in Waseca, LeRoy was the son of Roy and Ordella (Rudolph) Yess. He graduated from Waseca High School in 1970. LeRoy entered the Army in October 1972 and was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, for basic training. His rank was Private First Class and was sent to Mannheim, Germany. He was a truck driver in the 59th transportation company, 37th transportation group, and 28th transportation battalion. He was honorably discharged in 1976.

After he was discharged from the service, LeRoy worked for Owatonna Concert Company until he retired. He had a love of horses. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wilton Township, MN.

LeRoy is survived by special friend, Annie Just of Owatonna; two brothers, Gerold Yess of Waseca, Roger (Kathy) Yess of New Richland; five sisters, Barb (Floyd) Herme of Janesville, Mavis (Ralph) Brandenburg of Waldorf, Loretta (Duane) Lau of Janesville, Janice DeLaCruz of Madelia, Judy Yess of Mankato; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Ordella Yess; brother-in-law, Phillip DeLaCruz; nephew, John Murphy; great nephews, Benjamin and Jaxson Lau.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca. A gathering of friends and family will follow the burial at the home of Barb Herme.
