GLADYS WILLIAMS Obituary
GLADYS LaVERNE WILLIAMS (Age 90)
LaVerne passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017. She was born in Mt. Vernon, OH on March 25, 1926. She retired in 1991 from the US Court of Appeals. She is survived by her daughter, Reeda Butler; granddaughter, Renay Butler; great-granddaughter, Raquel Shortt; three sisters, Barbara Richardson (Norman), Margaret Williams (Charles) and Ellen Peterson; step-daughter-in-law, Brenda Williams; a host of nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Ulysses Williams and daughter, Carole Justice. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 25 from 12:30 p.m. until time of funeral service, 1:30 p.m. at FORT LINCOLN FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Bladensburg Rd., Brentwood, MD.www.fort-lincoln.com

LaVerne Williams was wonderful, sincere and personable. It was fascinating to listen to her tell the history of her community, and her of personal life experiences. She will be missed by all who knew her. Our deepest condolences to Reeda and family.

I have known LaVerne for 25 years. We net in the civic arena in her role as president of Lewisdale Civic Association. I have never seen a more dedicated, harder working person than LaVerne. She worked to keep her community the kind of place you want to live. She helped so many people. She was one amazing lady. I wish her peace and condolences to her family.
