KAREN DENISE HUGHES
Our beloved daughter, Karen Denise Hughes, 38, of Homestead, FL, passed away Friday afternoon, July 22, 2011 at Homestead Baptist Hospital after many years of illness.Karen was born December 27, 1972 in Washington, D.C., daughter of Robert James and Delilah Shenk Hughes. She attended High Point High School, Beltsville, MD and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Homestead and Women of the Moose Leisure City Chapter 1572.She is survived by her beloved son, Benjamin Caesar Silva of College Park, MD and two sisters, Gail Hughes Leakan of Homestead and Wendy Sue Hughes of Maryland.The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 27 from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a service at 8 p.m. at Branam Funeral Home, 809 N. Krome Avenue, Homestead, FL 33030.

I am so sorry to hear about karen's passing. wendy and karen were such a big part of my life when i was a kid. I met karen when I was only 12 years old. She was always so full of life. When my brother died 4 years ago she was so supportive and kind. She had the biggedt crush on my brother growing up. Now they are in Heaven together. Wendy i know what it feels like to loss a sibling. But always know she is in a better place now and she no longer has to be in pain. Please except my deepest sympathies and the whole Hughes family is in my prayers!!

I was so very sorry to hear of Karen's passing. Losing a child is about the most painful experience you will ever have, but know that time will help heal your grief.
