I want folks to know that my Dad's death was a blessing. Losing a loved one is always difficult but his bone cancer was advancing very aggressively and he was in a lot of pain. So we had enough time to say our good byes but he went quickly which limited his suffering.
My Dad truly loved all of the employees who worked for our family businesses over the years. He viewed all of his employees as family. Whether it was paying for an operation that was not covered by insurance or sending an employee back to school to get an advanced degree, my Dad's actions were always driven by generosity and a deep sense of responsibility for other people. He is a great example of how altruism can successfully mesh with capitalism.
73 is still relatively young these days but, nonetheless, my Dad had such a full and rich life. His interests ranged from history to ancient cultures to antiques and he had a chance to engage in all that he loved. His travels to Egypt and Antarctica in particular profoundly changed him: one, the awesome monuments built by ancient man, the other, a vast space largely untouched by man, created by the hands of God.
Thanks to all of you for your prayers and love and support. We are all creatures of God and we all have an eternal spirit that that is freed from our body upon death. So I feel my Dad is still with me, and I feel his love and support as I continue to run Marvel Manufacturing, our family business.
Love, Louis

I had conversations on the phone with Mr. Lou Byron and they were always wonderful. These were business calls but
he would always talk about his wife Linda. I knew he love his family.
He will be missed.

Our deepest sympathy. He truly will be missed for his generosity, kindness, civility, and concern for others. He was a gentleman who put the needs of others before his own. He ran the good race, and may he rest in peace. Forever in our memory.
