Michael Culloty Obituary

A devoted husband and father, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 26, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving behind a legacy of honor, service, and love.
He was born in The Bronx, NY on March 9, 1938, raised in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. He had an outstanding career while serving in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Major in 1978. He proudly served in the Special Forces, was an Army Ranger and a Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. In addition, he was a Vietnam War Veteran.
During his military service, Mike met the love of his life, Karen Ann Choney, in Lawton, Oklahoma. The connection was immediate and enduring. Together, they raised four children while moving across the U.S. and spending several cherished years in Okinawa, Japan. After retiring, the family settled in Rockville, Maryland, where Mike transitioned to a civil service career in the Intelligence field.
Beloved husband of Karen; Devoted father of Bryan (Mary) Doyebi, Gina (Sharon) Doyebi-Browne, Suzie Giampetroni, and Cindy Reeves; Cherished grandfather of Whitney, David, Joey, Karina, Grace and Luke. Brother of the late John 'Jack' Culloty and Margaret 'Peggy' Culloty Bertram.
Visitation at PUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Montgomery Avenue, Rockville, MD on Tuesday, July 8, 5 to 7 p.m. and where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 9 at 11 a.m. Memorial Donations to Alzheimer's Association. Burial at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
