MONA SCHLOSSBERG (Age 91)

Mona Eichelbaum Schlossberg, devoted mother and sister, kind and generous friend, passed peacefully and comfortably at home on June 22, 2022. Mona was predeceased by her parents Solomon and Ruth Eichelbaum, beloved son Marc Schlossberg in 1999, and her sister Janet (Eichelbaum) Mahler of Allentown, PA in 2019. She is survived by her daughter Caren Schlossberg-Wood of St. Louis, MO, brother Stewart Eichelbaum of Easton, PA, and grandson Alexander Wood of St. Louis, MO. Mona was born in Kingston, PA and grew up in Allentown, PA, where she graduated from Allentown High School in 1948 and attended the State Teachers College of Kutztown. She married Robert Schlossberg in June 1956 (divorced 1968) and moved to Greenbelt in 1964, where she lived for the remainder of her life. Mona worked as an Executive Assistant at The Washington Times for over 25 years, supporting several Executive Directors and building lifelong friendships.

A "Celebration of Life" service will be announced for late July 2022. Donations may be made in her memory to Shriners Hospital for Children, or SmileTrain.

I just found out. I had been trying to contact Mona for the past few months and I hadn't heard back. I'm devastated to read this. She was such a kind person. A very kind hearted person. I wish more people were like her. I'm glad her family was with her and I will miss her dearly. Very very dearly.
