MORTON GOODE

Dr. Morton Jacob Goode  
He was born and raised in Washington, DC in 1924 and passed away on June, 21, 2018 at the age of 94. He is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Amy Lou. He was the loving father of Scott (Leslie Olson) Goode, Robert (Pam) Goode, Jill (Jim) Childers. Cherished grandfather of Kyle (Jeff) Morris, David (Shanon) Goode, Jason (Megan) Childers, Jeff (Kelli) Childers, Robyn Goode and Lauryn (Sean) Connell. Adored Pop Pop of Samantha, Katelyn, Mia, Bella and Ever. He was the loving brother of Annette Oler and of the late Harry Goode. Morty was the first in his family to go to college (Georgetown University) and Dental School (Temple University). He practiced dentistry for 43 years. He was a Korean War Veteran. He was a volunteer dentist at the Hebrew Home for the Aged, the JSSA Program and on the Kibbutz Palmach Tzuba in Israel, and many other local and national organizations. After retiring in 1985 and moving to Florida, he and Amy became master gardeners, and they worked together part-time until he was 90. He and Amy enjoyed traveling the world and considered family, friends and his religion to be the most important things in his life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to JSSA Hospice, JSSA.org/donate. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 10 a.m., at the National Capitol Hebrew Cemetery, 4708 Fable Street, Capitol Heights, MD. Shiva will be observed at the Childers residence on Sunday from 12 Noon to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements by Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, LLC under Jewish Funeral Practices Committee of Greater Washington Contract.
