NICHOLAS A. KOLB "Nick" (Age 86)

Of Damascus, MD, passed away December 25, 2022. Nick was born October 2, 1936 to Wilbur and Louise (Albaugh) Kolb. He was raised in Bethesda, MD and graduated from Landon in 1955. Nick graduated from Gettysburg College in 1959 and was a member of Sigma Chi. He was married to his beloved wife Margaret for 57 years. Nick was a member of the Maryland National Guard, leaving service as a staff sergeant. He worked at the Department of Labor for 38 years. After retirement,Nick volunteered for 20+ years at Montgomery General Hospital. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Bethesda and then a 40+ year member of Redeemer Lutheran in Damascus. He loved spending time with his wife, kids, and grandchildren and enjoyed sports, travel, reading, and keeping up with current events. Nick is survived by his wife, Margaret; children, Judi (Joe) Beucher of Germantown, MD; Karen (Norm) Coheley of Woodstock, GA; Ken (Mary) Kolb of Ijamsville, MD; and grandchildren, Katie, Claire and Lucy Beucher; Ellsie and Adeleine Kolb; Charlie Coheley. A funeral service will be held January 3, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Family and friends will be received at a reception 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., after the service.
