I am Patrick's cousin. On behalf of the family, I want to thank everyone who has signed the Guest Book. The comments have offered us great insights and comfort. His generosity, humor, grace, and wisdom will be sorely missed. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, June 19th at 2 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church at 2217 Columbia Pike, Arlington, VA. In tribute to Pat, those attending are invited to bring a canned food item that will be donated to the Arlington Food Assistance Center, a local outreach organization to which he was a regular and frequent contributor. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Trinity Episcopal Church, earmarked "In Memory of Patrick Hoffman." Thanks again to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts.

It seemed only yesterday when Patrick last e-mailed me at work. Patrick and I went back to the days when we first ran into each other at NESSEC (at the Naval Security Station near American U. in DC). We didn't work together there, but ran into each other again at NMIMC/NAVMISSA and had a chance to work together on a few projects. Pat was usually lively, often outspoken and frank on most subjects, including trivias. He was a walking-talking encyclopedia. I enjoyed listening and chatting with Pat, but I sometimes had to excuse myself to return back to work.
Reality has not sunk in, but I've to face the light, and pay my respect and condolences to his relatives.
