Robert Heaney Obituary

The District of Columbia Firefighters Association (IAFF Local 36) of the Metro Washington Council AFL-CIO regrets to announce the passing of active Lieutenant Robert J. Heaney on January 22, 2025. Brother Heaney was appointed to the DC Fire and EMS Department on October 10, 2010, and was a 24-year veteran assigned to Rescue Squad 2.

A public viewing will be held on Monday, February 3, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the FCF Church, located at 10142 Hansonville Rd, Frederick, MD 21702. The funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. A celebration of life will follow immediately after the funeral service at the Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company, located at 79 W. Frederick Street, Walkersville, MD 21793.

We express our deepest heartfelt sympathies to the family and loved ones of Brother Robert J. Heaney. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the D.C. Firefighters Burn Foundation or the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
