I still miss her and I always will. What an uncommonly sweet and gentle soul. I had the pleasure of working with her at Community Development Institute/Head Start in Washington, D.C. where we became instant friends.

It's hard to realize that I first met Swapna just about 40 years ago. It has been a delight for Fran and me to know her in the time since then. She had so much life that it is so difficult to imagine that she is gone. Our prayers go with her family in this time of loss.

I became acquainted with Swapna when I was named a health advisory board member at the Community Development Institute of Washington, D.C. which was an arm of Operation Head Start. She was the project director and she and I bonded immediately and I admired her gentle, sweet spirit which endured despite her painful health problems. I have thought of her often since she left CDI and I will miss her.

Swapna was a thoroughly lovely person. My husband, Jackson Day, and I are terribly sad to hear of her death. She helped me dress for our wedding in 1989. I will always remember her sweetness and love.
