Frances Wimperis Obituary
Frances A. "Arlene" Wimperis, age 78 of Sciota, PA passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono in East Stroudsburg, PA.
Arlene was born in Morgantown, WV on January 10, 1947, daughter of the late Ralph and Victoria (Panico) Edwards.
She was the loving wife of the late Edwin H. Wimperis who preceded her in death in July 2010.
Arlene had worked for the Eastern Monroe Public Library in Stroudsburg, PA for many years. She had also worked at the Western Pocono Community Library in Brodheadsville, PA.
Arlene was a member of the Effort United Methodist Church in Effort, PA, a former member of the Western Pocono Women's Club and served on the Board of Directors for The Meadowlake Park Property Owner's Association in Sciota, PA.
We have been blessed with the presence of Arlene in our lives. She will be deeply missed by her son: Jeffrey M. Wimperis and spouse Gabriela of Kunkletown, PA.
She was the loving grandmother to: Leo S. Wimperis, Giulia O. Wimperis, Hector C. Wimperis, Liliana J. Simmonds and Delaila J. Simmonds.
Arlene is also survived by a sister: Kathleen Radice and spouse Gerald of Armonk, NY, a brother: Lee Edwards and spouse Kim of Williamstown, WV, nephews: James Varco, Tim Radice and spouse Kourtney, Derek Edwards and spouse Tracy, nieces: Kim Ferraro and spouse Edward and Brook Gutknecht and spouse Garret and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Edwin, and parents: Ralph and Victoria, she was preceded in death by two daughters: Victoria J. Wimperis and Jennifer L. Wimperis.
A private graveside service will be held at Hopewell Cemetery in E. Fishkill, NY at the convenience of the family at a later date.
