Robert Jobin Obituary
Robert (Bob) Oscar Jobin Sr. a long time Manchester resident, businessman, and volunteer, passed away this pass Friday night, August 15, 2025 in Windham Hospital in Willimantic, CT. Bob left silently, peacefully in a sleeping state late Friday night.
Bob was born 21 June, 1938, in Concord NH, to the late Henry Jobin and Mary (Desmaris) Jobin and had four brothers Paul, Raymond, Roland, Norman and one sister Theresa.
During his high school days joined the Army National Guard in Concord, New Hampshire on the 22 of September 1954 it only took nine months for Bob to enlist in the US Navy. Over the years of service from 21 June, 1955 until his discharge from active duty in November 1964 Bob was proud to have had the opportunity to have served on many distinguished ships as the U.S.S. Damato, U.S.S. Basilone, U.S.S. Dewey, U.S.S. Grand Canyon, U.S.S. Mcnair, U.S.S. Intrepid. After being discharged Bob immediately enlisted in the US Navy Reserves in Manchester, New Hampshire in 1965 to later transfer to the US Navy Reserves in Hartford, Connecticut in 1975. In 1981 Bob went on to be put on to the standby reserve list until finally in 1994 he was taken off the stand by list only to move on the Honor Guard at the VFW Post 2046 Manchester, Connecticut. He never quit serving, that's to say that Bob Jobin was very proud to have served the United States Navy for the United States of America, he was a proud American.
Bob Jobin also founded and managed two private companies over his professional career, when Bob first arrived to Manchester, Connecticut he built and managed a home painting and wallpapering company and grew a reputation of being the top craftsman in hanging wallpaper in Connecticut, only to divert his attention back to his Naval Training working in heating and air conditioning, founding Warmth for Less. He always believed in hard work and commitment to the job, as a result he was successful.
Survivors include his former wife Luella E. Jobin mother of daughter Tammy L. Berrings (VT), son James J. Jobin & his wife Summer & grandson Samuel (FL), daughter Luella G. Donahoe & grandson Michael & 2 great grandchildren & granddaughter Madison (NH), son Robert O. Jobin Jr. and wife Maria Eugenia (CHILE), daughter Patricia A. Jobin & granddaughter Britney (NH), daughter Elizabeth J Jobin & husband Shawn (NH), daughter Sarah L. Copp & Husband James & granddaughter Katherine (NH), and son George H. Jobin & wife Lourdes & grandson Adam & granddaughters Gisella & Emilia. He is also survived by his former wife Diane C. Jobin mother of daughter Jennifer Jobin Perkins & Husband Paul & grandchildren Hannah, Noah, Riley, Matt Jackson, Preston, and Daughter Marcy Quinney
