Lucille SMITH Obituary

Lucille F. Smith, 89, of Mesa, Ariz., died Sunday (Jan. 15, 2012) in Mesa.

Lucille was born on March 9, 1922, in Columbus, Ill., a daughter to Robert and Iva Boling McFarland. She married Harry S. Smith. He preceded her in death.

Lucille graduated from Quincy High School. She always played an active role in the family business at Central Arizona Supply and was an active member at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Mesa. Lucille had a special love for her family and will always be a guiding light to them.

She is survived by her three sons, David (Pam) Smith, Donald (Mary) Smith and Daniel Smith; her five grandchildren, Brandon (Jamie) Smith, Carrie (Pete) Lozano, Jeremy Smith, Becky (Phil) Bethell and Andrea (Brandon) Willey; and her seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her loving husband of 37 years, Harry, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Maxine Frame and Frances Hokamp.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. today in St. Luke Lutheran Church, 807 N. Stapley, Mesa.

VISITATION: Was held Wednesday in Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. MacDonald, Mesa.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, to St. Luke Lutheran Church or to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, Ariz. 85014.

ARRANGEMENTS: Meldrum Mortuary.
