Martha L. Nesbitt

Martha Louise (Bird) Nesbitt Auburn, MA. Longtime resident of Bedford, MA, recently of Peabody, MA, after a short illness on January 2, 2015. Martha was born in Revere, MA to Walter H. Bird and Alice May (Wheeler) Bird, May 26, 1922. She traveled with her parents to England in 1925, and starting in 1926, attended Camp Wamindi, Stinson Lake, NH for 9 years. She graduated Revere High School in 1939. She graduated from Pierce Secretarial School in spring 1941. Martha worked off Tremont Street, Boston for at least 4 years before meeting the love of her life, George P. Nesbitt, at her best friend's wedding. They were married Feb. 22, 1946 and settled in Bedford in 1950. Martha was a caring friend to both her high school friends and Wamindi campmates over the years. She prided herself with her home, gardens and the numerous needlework projects she made and displayed. Her younger brother Walter Jr., predeceased her. She is survived by her husband George; son George W. and his wife Diane and son Lawrence and his wife Janet. She also was a proud grandmother of Erica, Tracey, Nathan and Craig and great grandmother of Raleigh and Logan.
