Frank Antonucci Obituary

Frank V. Antonucci, Jr., 81, husband of Katharina (Kalmar) Antonucci of Pineswamp Road, died Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in his home following a long illness. Born in Winthrop November 29, 1935, he was one of three sons of the late Frank V. and Jennie (Lampasona) Antonucci. Frank was raised in Ipswich, a 1955 graduate of Ipswich High School. After graduation he entered the service and was stationed at Fort Schilling Air Force Base in Salina Kansas. While in the service he was trained as a dental technician and married his wife Katherina in 1959. Frank was most happy when surrounded by his family. He loved to garden and tend to his yard. He was a lifelong resident of Ipswich and very dedicated to his community. He was a proud member of the Ipswich Lions and was honored to recently receive their highest recognition, the Melvin Jones Award. He was also an active member of our Lady of Hope in Ipswich. In addition to his wife of fifty-seven years, he is survived by a son, Frank V. Antonucci, III and his wife Miriam of Ipswich; three daughters, Deborah L, McCarthy and her husband William of Ipswich, Christine M. Vetrano and her husband Dennis of Marshfield, and Jean E. Gennaco and her husband Joseph of Topsfield; eight grandchildren, William, III and Shaun McCarthy, Ryan and Cory Vetrano, Patrick and Jillian Gennaco, and Katherine and Veronica Antonucci; four great grandchildren, and a brother, Richard Antonucci of Naples, FL. He was the brother of the late Robert Antonucci formerly of Ipswich. The celebration of a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am, Monday, March 13 in Our Lady of Hope Church, Pineswamp Road, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are Sunday 4 to 7pm at the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, Six High Street, Ipswich. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Beth Israel Hospital: BIDMC, office of development, 330 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA (please note "Kidney Cancer Research" in memo). Prayers for the repose of Frank's marvelous soul were said during Mass at St. Pius, X church in Fort Lauderdale this morning. Frank was a wonderful IHS-'55 classmate and simply a really nice person.
