Priscilla J. Leavitt

Priscilla J. (P.J.) Leavitt, 89, of Needham MA passed away suddenly at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham on April 7, 2021. A lifelong Needham resident, P.J. was the daughter of the late John and Madelyn (Pendergast) Brady. She was the wife of the late Richard (Dick) Leavitt and sister of the late Thomas Brady of Marietta Georgia. She is survived by many cousins and nephews. P.J. grew up in Needham graduating high school in 1949. Upon graduation she worked at Carters in Needham and then at Carlings in Natick. After taking classes at Northeastern she worked for over 30 years at Tenneco in Newton working in administration. P.J. and her husband were long time New England Patriots season ticket holders, dating back to games in the early 1970s. They were also avid roller skaters in their younger years. As they grew older, they traveled throughout the United States and the world attending roller skating championships. Their enthusiasm was so great they were presented the United States Northeast Region "Sportsmanship" award for their unprecedented support of the athletes not only in the United States but throughout the world. For 40 years on summer weekends, you could find P. J. with her family and friends enjoying her beloved swimming pool. In 2009 P.J. became a volunteer at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham, which she called her second home. As a dedicated model volunteer P.J. was loved by all staff and patients. With her infectious smile and easy laughter, she connected with all those she met. Her energy and enthusiasm knew no bounds. She was also a devoted Red Sox fan watching every inning of every game on T.V. P.J. was also a longtime member of St Josephs parish in Needham. P.J. will be sorely missed by family and friends.
