Charlene "Gigi" L'Heureux Sullivan of Hanover, formerly of Norwell and Nantucket, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday evening, August 7, 2017. Charlene was predeceased by her mother, Edith L'Heureux, and father, Charles L'Heureux, and is survived by her loving husband, Jack, of 51 years. Charlene is lovingly remembered by her son, Brandon of Scituate; her daughter, Charrette and son-in-law Paul Schindler of Norwell; her daughter, Darrielle and son-in-law Philip Meckel of Norwell; her grandchildren, Morgan, Sally Quinn, Colin, Burke, Evan, Hannah, Barbara, James, Max, and Benjamin; her sister, Janet and brother-in-law David Carreau of Plymouth; her nephew, Craig and Kaitlyn Carreau of Plymouth; her nieces, Leigh Fonteneau of Bridgewater and Cheryl Marble of Plymouth; her cousins, Brian Lancaster of New York City, William Lancaster of Walpole, Peter Vece of Redwood City, and Caroline Soto of Carmel. She returned to school in her forties and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Bridgewater State University in 1986. Charlene worked for many years at the South Shore Art Center in Cohasset, where she was responsible for organizing their annual Art Festival on Cohasset Green. An accomplished and talented artist herself, Charlene worked in many different art mediums and created many stunning original pieces. She was inspired by all aspects of life and was always working on a new project. When she wasnt actively creating art, Charlene was a voracious reader, a member of two book clubs and usually had at least three books going at a time. Charlene also volunteered to work with many local groups, including the Friends of the Norwell Visiting Nurses Association, the Norwell Garden Club, the Church-hillers of Norwell, the Nantucket Artist Association. She loved her family and friends; always going above and beyond to show people she cared by personally delivering food, cards and gifts. She loved life and made every minute count by traveling, visiting museums, seeing plays, hosting parties and attending parties. She loved to laugh and make people laugh with her sharp sense of humor. The celebration of life Mass will be held at Saint Marys Catholic Church, 392 Hanover St. (Rte. 139), Hanover, Tuesday, August 15, at 10 a.m. Interment is private. Visiting hours omitted. So sorry to learn of Charlene's passing. The whole family is such a big part of my memories. My mom and her mom were the best of friends and there was always so much laughter. My heart is with all of the Sullivans as they face this new journey together.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Charlene was a wonderful, kind and loving person. I've known Charlene and her sister Janet for a very long time beginning in Dorchester when we were young children. My sister Anne (Dee Dee) and Charlene were friends in their teenage years and throughout their adult lives. We will grieve her loss and I will always remember the kindness that Charlene, Janet and their mother showed me as a young child. Charlene was a very special person and her legacy and kindness will continue to live on in my memories and heart. Her family will be in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time and loss.
Warmest regards, Laurene
