Carolyn D. Schmidt

Carolyn Diane Schmidt, 81, of Hopkinton, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Doris (Elkins) and Adelbert Prosser. She was the wife of 52 years to Harold D. Schmidt of Hopkinton. Carolyn was a graduate of Hopkinton High School and Boston University. Prior to her retirement, she was a physical education teacher for Hopkinton Public Schools. She was active with St. Pauls Church in Hopkinton, took pleasure in gardening and loved animals. She is survived by three children, Dana Rebecca Kalipolites and her husband, Gary, Robert David William and his wife, Heather, Doris Marie Schmidt and her husband, Jay. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Zina Misurelli and her husband Tony, Athena Kalipolites, Brandon William, Dylan William, Richard Schaefer and his wife Elizabeth, Tanner Mullen, Kensey Mullen; 3 great-grandchildren, Kyrah, Hannah, and Montgomery. She is predeceased by her first husband, First Lt. David William and a brother, James Prosser. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, January 30th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pauls Episcopal Church. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Pauls Episcopal Church, 61 Wood St. Hopkinton.
