George Gardikis Obituary

George M. Gardikis, of Weymoth, passed away after a brief illness on April 14, 2020. He was the father of Marie DuCharme and her late husband Arthur of Maryville, TN, David Gardikis and Jacqueline of Westport, Irene Larkin and Dennis of Weymouth, Gerald Gardikis and Helen of Mayer, AZ, Georgia and Leo Freeman of Halifax, June and Tom McInerney of Mullett Lake, MI, Laura and Daniel Sparrow of Brewster, Roger and Susan Gardikis of E. Taunton, Norma Gardikis and Faris Ghazi of Brockton and Robin Gardikis of Brockton. Also survived by 26 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. George knew he was truly blessed in life by God, and always found a way to share those blessings with others. He was a man of great faith, and served God in the choir; he used his beautiful voice to sing, and bring joy to others. George had a heart of compassion, and love. His family will forever be grateful to God for their dad, grandfather "Papa Diki", and friend. He is now with his Lord. Normally, the funeral is an opportunity for the community to gather in support of one another. Although we cannot gather together with George's family at this time, friends may still offer their support by visiting www.Keohane.com and sharing a special memory or message. For those who cannot access the website, please call 781-335-0045 to have your message added. Memorial donations may be made to Samaritans Purse, P.O. Box, 3000, Boone, NC 28607. Dear Gardikis Cousins...Sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He will be greatly missed by all. My fondest memories of your Dad are when he'd visit my Mom in Attleboro. They would come for dinner & sit on the side porch & chat for hours about the olden days. Your Dad was always smiling, singing & laughing. I am grateful to have connected w/your Dad these last several years. We'd talk on the phone...he'd sing to me...remind me of the time he donated blood for my heart surgery when I was a kid...& he'd always say..."I love you...love you...love you!" Your parents raised 10 beautiful, loving. Christian children. It couldn't have been easy, but look at the incredible job they did! Your Dad always loved an audience...& an audience always loved your Dad. He is singing for all his siblings once again. Until we meet again Uncle George..."I love you...love you...love you!"

I never met George, but I know he was a wonderful man because of some of the members of his family that I do know. I know that he was a man of great faith in God, and I know that you will all see him again. May you all take comfort in that knowledge.

I will miss my Dad, I was very close to my Dad, when I was young, I worked with my Father in almost every job he had. My father was a very Hard worker and as I owned my own business in metal stamping and Fabrication. Dad was one if the best workers I had at that time. I Thank God I had those few years together and we would talk and laugh about the good and bad Times we had. I got my work ethic from my Dad. It was hard to keep up with him but I did a good job. Everyone Loved George and I will miss him. He loved fishing and I remember he would have like 3 or 4 hooks on his line and would catch a fish on every hook. While maybe others caught one fish. It was a big joke !! He was a character and loved singing to anybody who would listen. He knew so many Irish songs, I am sure people thought he must be Irish also God Bless you all and if you want to see him again, you can see him in Glory!! (Heaven) Love oldest Son David ❤

Dear Irene and family,I am very sorry for the loss of your father. I always enjoyed stopping in to see him while I was at work. I always used to joke with him, that with all the postcards he received in the mail, that he could build a house of cards. I hope that by helping him to call you, Irene, it brought you both some comfort during these difficult and uncertain times. Peace be with all of you.Jeff LemieuxCare One Activities
