Earl Roe Obituary

TOBACCOVILLE - Mr. Earl Smith Roe, 69, of Rierson Road died Friday, June 25, 2004. He was born Oct. 13, 1934, in Washington County, Va., to James E. and Annie Kinsley Roe. Earl was of the Baptist faith and was a member and past master of King Masonic Lodge 722. He loved fishing, hunting and all outdoor activities. He was preceded in death by a brother, Don Roe. Surviving are his wife, Martha M. Roe of the home; a daughter, Sally Carol (Curtis) Knight of Tobaccoville; two sons, James L. (Debbie) Roe of Yadkinville and Earl Keith (Kris) Roe of Lexington; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Jean (Martin) Campbell of Abingdon, Va., Dot (Harry) Campbell of King, Lillie (Ross) Lindley of Jonesboro, Tenn., and Sue (Don) Bumgardner of Abingdon, Va.; and three brothers, John (Irene) Roe of Damascus, Va., Dewey Roe of Abingdon Va., and Ray (Glenna) Roe of Bristol, Va. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 27, at Slate Funeral Home in King. Burial with Masonic rites will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening, June 26, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
