MICKLES YADKINVILLE - Edith Miller Mickles Feb. 16. 1932 - April 23, 2011 Edith Miller Mickles, 79, of Mickadams Road, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. A native of Iredell County, she was born February 16, 1932 to the late John and Ida Miller. Mrs. Mickles was of the Baptist Faith, attended the Morganton School for the Deaf, and was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joy Finney Mickles on July 22, 2005. Surviving are her daughters, Debbie Brown (Randy Hutchens), Yadkinville; Juanita (Roger) Lackey of Stony Point, NC; her son, Thomas Jeffrey Mickles of Yadkinville; sister, Dorothy (Roy) Pharr, of Statesville; Grandchildren, Brian (Jennifer) Lackey. Ashley (Grant) Hunsucker, Stephen Brown; Great-Grandchildren, Caroline, Carson, Gavin Hunsucker, Jude Lackey. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and she will be greatly missed. The family would like to express their gratitude to a special caregiver from Touched by Angel, Kathy Palmer, whom Mrs. Mickles loved dearly. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Union Grove Baptist Church by Rev. Kenny Gooden and Rev. Archie Creed. She will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
