Mr. Harry Robert Gray, III, 88, of Pilot Mountain, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 26, 1935, in Forsyth County, to the late Harry Robert Gray, Jr. and Lola Marie Collins Gray. He retired from RJ Reynolds, and he enjoyed attending Freedom and Liberty Church. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barbara Southern Gray; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Michelle Swearengin, Deana and Andy Rutherford, and Karen and Richard Pell; a son, John Eric Gray; his grandchildren, Andrew Rutherford and Sheree, Austin Rutherford, Tucker Anschutz, Erica Gray, Thomas Pell, and Ashley and Billy Mullins; his great-grandchildren, Brantley Mullins, Maximus Mullins, and Ashleigh Haynes; a brother, John Gray; and a nephew, Richard Gray. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gray was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Don Swearengin. The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Pinnacle Baptist Church, with Pastor Eddie Sawyers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Pinnacle Baptist Church. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family. I went to school with his daughter Michelle and I will never forget the time Harry and Barbara and the kids came by the house in a HEARSE and took me to church with them, You just can't forget that!!! LOL, I miss those days.

I grew up knowing Harry as my neighbor and my friend. He was a good man and I have fond memories of him and the Lord saved both of us later in life and I look forward to seeing him in Gods Kingdom.
