Norman Eugene Boles passed away Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006, after an illness of seven months. God saw Norman was very tired and a cure was not meant to be. Jesus put his arms around him and whispered I am taking you home with me. A loving heart stopped beating, hard-working hands laid to rest. Our hearts are broken, but God knew what was best. Norman and Barbara were united almost 53 years. A blessing that was for both of us. Norman was a member of Victory Baptist Church, where he served as a past deacon and also a member of Masonic Lodge in Arcadia as a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner in the Clemmons Lodge. Mr. Boles was self-employed and owner of the 3 R's Mobile Home Park. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Clifton, James, John, Ralph, Howard, Ruben, Robah, Glenn and Spencer Boles; and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Fox. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Mock Boles; daughters Mrs. Robin Wilder, Mrs. Renee Hunter and Mrs. Roxane Weaver; granddaughters Casey Howerton, who adored her grandfather, Amanda, Cheyene, his little butterfly, Krystal, Meghan and Melissa; also a wonderful sister, Etta Lou McCollum of Greensboro; a special friend, Mickey Spaugh, whom Dad called his son; also numerous nieces; and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, with Dr. Michael Duffield and the Rev. Colen Lynch officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of the Intensive Care Unit at Forsyth Medical Center for the care shown to Mr. Boles.

Dear Barbara, Roxy, David, Amanda and Cheyenne, I am so very sorry for you loss. The short time I knew this Husband, Father, and Grandfather I saw a very loving Christian man who deeply loved his family. His very presence imminated his love for his family.
Words at this time of grief can not touch your pain I know but I have learned that grief is a gift from God to teach us compassion that you can not feel on this level without loosing a loved one. Knowing that our loved one is walking and talking with Our Lord and Beloved Jesus helps cope with the pain. If you ever need me Please don't hesitate to call me. I Love You All. You are my family now and I will help you all I can. Know you are all in my prayers and that God loves you very much. God Bless you.

To Barbara and girls...Bob and I was saddened to hear of Norman's going home to be with God. He was very special to us and always a joy to be around. Knowing his pain is gone and he is happy in the arms of God will give you comfort at this time. Bob was so glad he called him and he was able to talk to him before he got to sick. We will be unable to attend the services due to Bob's health but know you are in our prayers and thoughts. Do not hesitate to ask for anything if you need us. Love, Bob and Cheryl Miller

Dearest Barbara and Family,
You are each in my thoughts and prayers. I am so thankful that I got to see and visit with you and my precious Uncle Norman at Daddy's visitation and again at Mother's. God always gives us blessings, even at sad times, and I feel so blessed that I got to see Uncle Norman. It had been many years since we had seen each other, and the time just floated away as we went to each others arms in love and sadness. That is and always has been the "Boles" tradition. We all love each other, no matter what. I know that Grandmother, Grandaddy, Daddy, all the brothers, and Aunt Sara were there to meet Uncle Norman. I know from the short visits we've had that he loved the Lord with all his heart, and that he was welcomed to heaven with open arms. I will continue to hold you in my heart and prayers. God Bless each of you in your loss.
All my love,
Frankye Boles Cartner

Barbara and Girls,
I felt such sorrow and saddness when I read of Norman's passing. He was a very fine, giving, and loving man.We were fortunate to be able to count him as a friend. He was there with his preacher when Jackie had his first open heart surgery, to pray with us and he was here when he had his stroke. He was a wonderful man and we are truly blessed to have known him. I'm sure the Lord is watching over you all, letting you know he has Norman with him and he is already well. May God Bless you, and be with you, now and forever.
