I wish to extend my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Shawn Duncan Powell. May God give you strength and courage during this time of loss. Our paths crossed years ago when Shawn and I worked together at the Naval Regional Contracting Center. Although Shawn was the consummate professional, she was always kind and funny and she had a sincere heart. She will be truly missed. God bless.

Shawn, I can clearly see you on the sandlot behind Middlefork, I can see you sitting on the steps at Daddy Bill's playing "button, button, whose got the button". Sincere Condolences to the family of Shawn Duncan-Powell:
I love you my sister and I am so glad God saw it not robery to take you home. You no longer have to suffer. Now you can dance with mamma (Antionette) once again. II Timonthy 4:5 - 8 - But Watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my depature is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished... my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. R.I.P. my dear friend. I will miss you here on earth, but will rejoice when we meet again in Heaven. It is finished.

To the Duncan and Powell family and especially her little girl, Antoinette. Let your heart not be troubled because God will be with you and heal the hurt. During my young career, I met Shawn at the Navy's Regional Contracting Center (NRCC), Washington Navy, Washington DC. Shawn was smart, articulate, organized, faithful, resourceful and presented a professional demeanor.
As I reflect, I realize that God sent Shawn to NRCC to be a marker in my life. I remember all the fun times we had working at NRCC. Recently, when conversing with Elaine she reminded me of the times the three of us went downtown DC to buy a certain piece of lingerie. I now realize that we were good shape....we really did not need that piece of garment. May God comfort and protect the Duncan and Powell family during this sorrowful time.

I extend my heartfelt sympathies to the Duncan and Powell families and to Shawn's dauugher, Antoinette. May God's grace be of comfort to you during this time of loss.
