Lewis, Irene M.

Irene M. Lewis, age 94, of Nekoosa, died Thursday, July 16, 2015 at The Renaissance in Wisconsin Rapids.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nekoosa. Rev. John Swing will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home of Nekoosa is assisting the family. Irene was born June 14, 1921 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to LeRay and Loretta (Kruetzer) Saunders. She married Clifford Lewis on August 22, 1940 in Wisconsin Rapids. She was a charter member of the Sunset Drifter Snowmobile Club and she camped up north with her husband in their fifth wheeler, until last year. Irene enjoyed bowling, shuffleboard, fishing and playing cards.

Irene is survived by her husband, Clifford; four children, Sharon (Donald) Iverson of Wisconsin Rapids, Terry (Bonnie) Lewis of Nekoosa, Brenda Jackson of Wisconsin Rapids, and Dean (Vanessa Kenaston) Lewis of Springview, NE; 10 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 19 great great grandchildren; and one sister, Ina Martin of Wausau.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Marie Suerth and Helen Fishbeck.

Clifford and family. Irene was a very thoughtful and loving lady.She made us feel we were always a part of your family. We will never forget the thoughtfulness and kindness she showed us.
