BELLINGHAM - Therese M. (Cartier) Trottier, 99, of Bellingham, MA passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2024 at The Holliday Retirement Home, Manville, RI. She was the beloved wife of the late Roland J. Mike Trottier Sr., and the loving mother of Lucie M. Lemke and her husband, Bill of Sturbridge, MA, Ronald P. Trottier and his wife, Cheryl of North Smithfield, RI, Roland J. Trottier and his wife, Sandra of Berlin, MD, and Paul A. Trottier and his wife, Darlene of Cumberland, RI. She leaves her cherished 7 grandchildren and 9 great - grandchildren.
Therese was born in Woonsocket, RI on October 25, 1924, the daughter of the late Donat J. and Rose (Gregoire) Cartier. She was the sister of Rolande Dubois of Bellingham, MA, Jeanne Levreault of Woonsocket, RI, and the late Gerard Cartier, Laurent Cartier, George Cartier, Estelle Valois and Claire Trottier. She leaves her nieces and nephews.
She was a resident of Bellingham since 1946 formerly of Woonsocket. Prior to retiring, Therese had worked as a sales clerk at Sidney Bloomenthal, Warwick Shoppers World and Woolworths.
She was a member of the Woonsocket Deluxe Sporting Club and the Franco American Club in Bellingham. She was a communicant of St. Theresa Church in Blackstone, and previously Assumption Church and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne, and St. Louis Church. She was a member of the Womens Auxiliary of Bellingham Fire Department. She was an avid card and bingo player and enjoyed trips to the casinos. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 28th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at Divine Mercy Church, 48 St. Paul Street, Blackstone, MA. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. There are no visiting hours. The family will receive those attending at church from 9:30AM prior to Mass. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Therese M. Trottier may be made to The Holiday Retirement Home, 30 Sayles Hill Road, Manville, RI 02838 would be appreciated.
