Edward Lee Keeling

In Memory of My Father
EDWARD LEE KEELING who passed January 27, 2023. He was a Graduate of Dunbar High school class of 1951. He enlisted in the United States Army served in the 82nd Airborne Division. After his honorable discharge he attended Murrey State in Kentucky. He returned home to Dunbar to graduated from WV state University in 1957.
Spent many years part of Masonic Lodge in Dunbar also a Member of the Bene-Kedem Shrine Temple and was a member of the patrol, and he was always active in his church. Serving on various commitees, Sunday School teaching, Coaching young man's Church league basketball and spent many years as a boy scout leader. Dad was a true outdoors man, his passion was hunting, canoing, kayaking and being in amongst nature. He retired from the Department of Highways Maintainace division he also served as the president of the Asphalt Pavers Association.
Dad was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy C. Keeling, Beulah "Painter" Keeling, his son Edward Lee Keeling II, sister, Martha Ann Keeling Brooks and Special Friend and Mentor Leonard Fisher of Dunbar.
He is survived by loving daughter, Keith Ann Keeling Garrett; two grandsons, Jeremy A. Garrett and Julian D. Garrett; four great grandsons, Hendrix, Chelone, Seavy, Jobie and 1 great granddaughter, Ellie Marie Garrett all of NC also two nieces Amy and Beth Brooks.
