Joyce E. Beck, 78, died at 7:04 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Richard E. "Dick" Beck, Sr.
Born April 13, 1939 in York, a daughter of the late Charles and Pauline (Shenberger) Weir, she had worked as a greeter at Walmart for 20 years.
In addition to her husband of 58 years, Mrs. Beck is survived by a son, Richard E. Beck, Jr. and his wife, Sandra of York; two daughters, Lori A. Eckenrode and her husband, William of York, and Deborah L. Needham and her husband, Charles of Spring Grove; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, James Weir; and a sister, Patricia Crane. She was also preceded in death by three brothers.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Semmel Chapel of Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 E. Market St., York, with Pastor Ron Wettstein officiating. Viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 301 Chestnut Street, #101, Harrisburg, PA 17101.

I still can't believe she has passed. What a wonderful next-door-neighbor she was for 5 yrs when I lived at 323 W North St, then Lynn Streett passed right across the street from the Beck's..... And June 23, 2018, my own Mother/Best Friend, was taken away at 90-years old, leaving behind 4 adult children, 11 adult grandkids, & 9 young great grandkids.
Mr. Beck, children, grandchildren, & great grandchildren, you are all in my thoughts & prayers. This is my 1st Christmas without my Mom.
I know they're all better off where they are, but they left behind many tears & heartbreaks.

Me Beck, although I have only lived next door for 4 yrs, I have grown very fond of you, Mrs Beck, Ashley, Heather, and the 3 great grandchildren. I can not find the words to tell you how deeply sorry I am. Mrs Beck was such a great woman, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Rest assure that she is in the loving arms of God resting and reunited with all her beloved family and friends in God's Heavenly Kingdom.
I hope if any of you need me, you'll feel free to come to my door.
Mrs Beck is painfree and walking without her cane and introducing all of her family to all of the Angela above!!
