Richard Shriver Obituary

MCCONNELSVILLE: Richard C. Shriver 78, of Malta passed away at 10:58 p.m. on Monday, March 1, 2010 at his home. He was born November 11, 1931 in Morgan County to the late Ralph Thorla and Ora Farus Shriver.
He was the owner operator of Shriver Trucking. He was a member of the Corinthian Lodge #111 F&AM in McConnelsville, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, Morgan Shrine Club, and former member of the Morgan County Fairboard. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, American Legion Post #24 of McConnelsville, and Lakeside Riding Club. Mr. Shriver was well known for his recitations in the community.
He is survived by his wife, Nanci Van fossen Shriver; two daughters, Cindi (Jack) Hedges of McConnelsville, Jodi (John) Price of Zanesville; one son, Rick (Connie) Shriver of McConnelsville; two step-daughters, Kelley (Michael) Huck of McConnelsville, Holly (Darl) Hann of Malta; grandchildren, Adam Shriver, Ashley Hardman, Evan Shriver, Jordan Huck, Hannah Huck, Isak Hedges, Courtney Hedges, Anne Price, and Jack Price; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Carolyn Guffey of McConnelsville, Marilyn Roth of Columbus, and Pamela Jean (Jerry) Alderman of Columbus; one brother, Rodney (Sherry) Shriver of Zanesville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Christopher Shriver; three brothers, Gary, Ronald and Denzil Shriver.
Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the MILLER-HUCK FUNERAL HOME in McConnelsville where Masonic Services will held at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the funeral home with Dean Blackburn officiating. Burial with Military services by the Morgan County Veterans will be in Pennsville Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to the Genesis Hospice, 713 Forrest Ave., Zanesville, Ohio 43701. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.miller-huck.com.
