Ethel Mary Beun excelled in all aspects of life. Few can match her successes as a mother, as a business owner, and as a person who gave herself, her love and her caring to so many others, whether human or animal. She conquered all challenges until this final one. Survival of that horrible disease is virtually impossible, but I am sure she fought it with great strength and courage, and never gave up until she was ready to go.

I offer my deepest condolences to the family and I am so thankful that I knew Ethel, Jennifer and Brian a long time ago.

I never knew Ethel but I do know King Street Cats. When I was looking for cats to adopt, I could tell immediately that King Street Cats was different and I wanted my new cats (I adopted two) to come from them. Now I know that King Street Cats is what it is because of Ethel. I wish I had met her and I extend my condolences to her family.

I was very saddened to learn about Ethel's death. Ethel was very special to me in many ways. She took care of my beautiful Tabby Cat Zelda that I adopted from King Street Cats. She cared for Zelda in her own home for three months, when I lost my apartment. She also was very comforting and encouraging to me. She was always so full of energy and love for her Cats and I loved going to play with the Cats at her shelter. Zelda and I will miss her very much. She was a kind, special woman and I was very glad to have met her for the short period that I knew her. Zelda and I will pray for her and her family. I am sorry to be in Florida and cannot make her memorial service on the 13th. If there is anything I can do, please contact me at the e-mail address below.
