Ethel Mary Beun excelled in all aspects of life. Few can match her successes as a mother, as a business owner, and as a person who gave herself, her love and her caring to so many others, whether human or animal. She conquered all challenges until this final one. Survival of that horrible disease is virtually impossible, but I am sure she fought it with great strength and courage, and never gave up until she was ready to go.

I never knew Ethel but I do know King Street Cats. When I was looking for cats to adopt, I could tell immediately that King Street Cats was different and I wanted my new cats (I adopted two) to come from them. Now I know that King Street Cats is what it is because of Ethel. I wish I had met her and I extend my condolences to her family.

I was very saddened to learn about Ethel's death. Ethel was very special to me in many ways. She took care of my beautiful Tabby Cat Zelda that I adopted from King Street Cats. She cared for Zelda in her own home for three months, when I lost my apartment. She also was very comforting and encouraging to me.
