Karen was my best friend for many years when we were just starting out in our design careers. We were there for each other through thick and thin. I would always call her when I needed good advice. I will really miss her thoughtful feedback and her infectious laugh.

As Karen and I had dinner on the roof at Perry's in Adams Morgan, we discussed our ambitions. It was a long time ago, but I will always remember her as a well composed, confident and sincere person.
