Numerous Christian parents who have lost a child through the tragic consequences of unforeseen occurences, must know that Jehovah is with them.
Our Heavenly Father has given them promise found at
John 11:25 - "I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he even though he dies, will come to life."

To the families of those lost in this terrible tragedy, we pray for God's hand to sustain you through this unimaginable time. We are parents of 3 ASU students and have chaperoned high school friends several times at OIB. We returned there last week with our family and felt the impact to the local community concerning your losses. Please know your Angels will not be forgotten.

As I'm watching town workers put up the cross in memory of the victims, this morning, I am reminded of that horrible time. Please know that it had a profound effect on the residents of OIB as well. I send my thoughts and prayers out to the victims, families and OIB fire/police who still deal with thoughts of this tragic event daily.

My heart goes out to the families and loved ones of the fire victims. I think of long ago weekends spent with my dear Tri-Delta Sorority sisters and reflect on the cold reality that tragedy can happen to anyone, at anytime, and without any warning! God Bless the souls affected by this one.

God Bless you all and all of your families. Do not think that anyone has forgotten you all. I didn't even know any of you all personally - but it still crosses my mind everyday. I took many beach trips with sorority and fraternity friends in college & it saddens me to think how tragic this is for you all. God Bless your families and friends.

I have followed the events surrounding this tragedy and have been so moved by the words the families and survivors have shared about those lost. The only true peace you can know comes from God and from trusting that your children are His and are with Him now. Why they were taken so soon may not be answered in our lifetime, but one day, He will answer that question for you. Thankfully, they were with friends that they loved and were not alone and knew no pain. I cannot imagine the overwhelming sense of loss and grief you all must be feeling at this time, but I pray that in time, it will lessen and you will be at peace. Know that you are not alone and that those you may never meet are praying for you and thinking of you and are remembering your children as well.

OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO ALL THE FAMILIES WHO LOST SOMEONE IN THE BEACH HOUSE FIRE. MY HUSBAND LOST HIS DAUGHTER AND I LOST MY STEP-DAUGHTER ALMOST FOUR YEARS AGO IN A BAD CAR ACCIDENT WHERE THE CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE. SHE WAS ONLY 16 YEARS OLD, IT HAPPENED ON DECEMBER 22, 2003. SOMETIMES IT SEEMS LIKE YESTERDAY EVEN THOUGH IT'S BEEN ALMOST FOUR YEARS. JUST KNOW EVEN THOUGH THE PAIN WILL NEVER GO AWAY IT GETS EASIER DAY BY DAY. JUST REMEMBER THE GOOD TIMES YOU SHARED WITH YOUR LOVED ONE AND THEY'LL ALWAYS BE WITH YOU. WE WILL BE PRAYING FOR YOU ALL.

The Perfect Passing Prayer
If I should leave this world
Without a warning,
And not even whisper a fond farewell
Grieve not for one more message
From the lips that God has stilled,
But just remember me with love
And prayers for my soul's journey
To that fair land beyond life's tears
For I have believed with all my heart
In its existence, and I know
That God is good, for He has come to me
Through the life of Him whose very garment
I have sought to touch.
It may be lonely, and I hope you miss me
Just a little, because I have loved so deeply
My own family and faithful friends.
Forgive me if I have ever hurt you.
And remember me for what I longed to be.
Have faith that I am nearer than
Your dreams and fondest longings
For the God of love shall keep all kindred spirits
Close together, through the misty vale between
This world and that to come
Keep us from each other's sight
For a few precious moments.
Whisper softly that you love me
And it shall linger on within my soul until you come.
Say not goodbye for on some bright tomorrow
We shall meet again...
So very sorry for your losses!

As a fellow college student who's taken several road trips with my own friends and fraternity brothers over the past four years, including a few to the Carolina coast near Ocean Isle, my heart broke when I heard about the fire -despite not knowing anyone involved. It's so tragic that what was surely an amazing weekend filled with wonderful memories ended so harshly. I've experienced the loss of a friend before, but I can't begin to imagine what it feels like to lose seven at once.
I'm praying for the kids lost and I have faith that they're reunited in a better place. More than anything though, I'm praying for the families and friends of those who never made it out of that house and I'm hopeful that eventually you'll be able to move forward with life, just as I'm sure the seven of them are wanting you to do from up above. God bless you all and I know many here in the Bluegrass are thinking and praying for you today.

Mere words can not express how truly sorry I am that you have to endure the loss of your loved one. Why God chose to call his angels back so soon is a mystery, but for some reason, he needed them back. As long as you carry them in your hearts they will never truely be lost. They will always be with you, watching over you until you are reunited for eternity. My heartfelt wish is that your families and friends find peace and comfort during this difficult time. You will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

May God Bless And Comfort You
By: Charles G. Turner, Sr.
At times like this when we don’t know what to do
Just talk to God and he will see you through
When words sometimes just won’t do and you don’t know what to say
Just talk to God and let him have his way
When friends and family come and go
Just remember that God has an open door
At times like this when words alone won’t do
May God bless and comfort you
November 4, 2007
To the families and friends of all those involved in the fire, you are in our thoughts and prayers.I know you will find the strength to make it through. Things will never be the same for you, but they can still be good. The lovely tributes, photos and memories of your young ones written about in the news are what we will try to remember. I hope you can do that as well, rather than how they were lost. Those beautiful smiles. Funny stories, loved the Mario Kart memories. An active, happy, fun-loving group of people.I know you miss them more than can be imagined. From a mom of two young women(22 and 24).

“I’ll lend you for a little while
A child of mine,” God said
“for you to love the while he lives,
And mourn for when he’s dead.
It may be six or seven years
Or forty two or three.
But will you, till I call him back,
Take care of him for me?
He’ll bring his charms to gladden you
And – (should his stay be brief) –
You’ll have his lovely memories
As a solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay,
Since all from earth returns;
But there are lessons taught below
I want this child to learn.
I’ve looked the whole world over
In my search for teachers true
And from the things that crowd life’s lane
I have chosen you.
Now will you give him all your love?
Not think the labor vain?
Nor hate me when I come to take
This Lent Child back again?”
“I fancied that I heard them say –
“Dear Lord, Thy will be done
For all the joys Thy Child will bring
The risk of grief we’ll run.
We will shelter him with tenderness,
We’ll love him while we may
And for the happiness we’ve known
Forever grateful stay.
But should Thy angel call for him,
Much sooner than we’ve planned,
We’ll brave the bitter grief that comes
And try to understand.”

My deepest sympathy goes out to your families right now as you begin the healing process. I can never imagine losing a child like you have to face but to have lost so many at once is just tragic. I know in my heart that God had a plan for those kids and needed them somewhere else. I know that it is not an easy thing to hear but, I truly believe they are all Angels looking down on us now. They are with you every day in everything that you do. I have read that every one of them were such wonderful children, Please be proud of them and be proud of yourselves for the wonderful job that you did in raising them during the time that you had with them. Every one of them were and still are a special angel, a child to cherish. I am glad that you had the time that you did with them. My heart goes out to you and I ache for you at what you must be feeling. Keep the wonderful memories around forever for the sake of the kids, and they will always be with you when you need them to be. GOD Bless, (I know he already has by giving these children to you)Just remember that He has a plan for everything and something positive will come of this. It may be very hard to see at the moment but he won't let you down. Please try to keep your spirits high and take care. Trust in God, He will lead the way when things seem to be the darkest in life.

To the Families of these young victims:
I am deeply sorry for the loss of your loved ones. Its so tragic for this to have happened. They had many hopes and dreams, as I have read. All very into pursuing their life dreams. Its very unfortunate. I am very sorry, and my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I commend EMT's, Firefighter, and and medical professionals. They risk their lives trying to save people and its very hard for them to come across a scene where there is absolutely nothing they can do. My fiance' fights fires all the timeas well as go to car accidents and go on rescue calls. Its a very hard job. He really enjoys it. He likes saving peoples' lives. Its hard for me, knowing he is out there fighting a fire, I dont know when he will be back or if he even will be back. I do know, that if something happens to him while in the line of duty, he was doing something he loved to do, and it makes me proud to be with a man that enjoys saving peoples lives. He is an EMT and a Lieutenant on the Volunteer Fire Department in the town we live in. It breaks my heart hearing of this fire. Take Care and if anyone needs to talk, I am here for you. I'm not a friend of yours (But I can be), I am not a family member of yours, in fact I dont even know you. However, I am willing to take my time and talk about things with you if you so choose to. Just email me anytime, I will respond. ([email protected]) Take Care.
